I kept seeing the Whatchamacallit so thought it was time to review it. Is the name great or is it unbelievably stupid? Well I’m still not entirely sure! It’s quite true that people do frequently use ‘whatchamacallit’ as a noun. And Hershey’s decision to bring out a follow up bar (which has now gone to Chocolate Heaven with the other deceased bars like the Fuse and Champagne Crunchie) called the Thingamajig was equally clever/horrific. You can’t deny it’s catchy though. Because even when you forget the Whatchamacallit bar, you end up using the bar’s name trying to remember the bar’s name. It’s brilliant- like a beer called beer or a cheese called cheese…you just can’t forget it.

I haven’t reviewed as much Hotel Chocolat stuff as I would have liked to since I started this site. They have a brilliant array of produce constantly on sale and they’re one of my favourite chocolate businesses anywhere…but whilst I eat plenty of their chocolate, especially the mini-slabs which they make, I normally demolish it without sitting down and writing a review. So REALLY, it’s Hotel Chocolat’s fault for making their chocolates too nice looking. But I just about managed to control myself around these Salted Peanut Creams, so I actually have written a review of them!
Peanut butter is awesome stuff. I eat it on its own, with sweet stuff, with savoury stuff and with both hot and cold dishes. The amount of dishes that peanut butter wouldn’t improve can probably be counted on a single hand in my opinion. Therefore I was pretty eager to get into the final review of Snickers Week- Mars U.S’s Snickers Peanut Butter.
I massively slagged off the Snickers More Nuts on Tuesday because I thought that the newly released limited edition bar from Mars UK demonstrated a real lack of originality and innovation. Well this is the other product from that same limited edition range, and I’m sincerely hoping it isn’t anywhere near as lame! Day 4 of Snickers Week sees a review of the Snickers More Caramel bar.
After yesterday’s rather poor limited edition bar from Mars which turned out to be the near enough identical twin of the regular Snickers, I’m delighted to actually have something a bit more different today on day three of Snickers Week. The Snickers Dark. I’ve never tried Mars’ dark chocolate before I don’t think, as their Mars Dark (or Midnight Mars or whatever it is called) has never appealed to me much. Hopefully the product will be more exciting than the More Nuts bar anyway.
Day two of Snickers Week brings us a super duper, highly thoughtful and borderline revolutionary new Snickers bar from Mars UK. Ok, I might have gone a little over the top. Or a LOT over the top. Because the Snickers More Nuts is a regular Snickers bar…with a few more nuts. Awe-inspiringly original stuff from Mars’ product development department, but something I was interested in trying none the less as a limited edition product.
I’ve had a few ‘themed’ weeks recently. First there was Frey Week, then Australia Week…so when I saw that Mars UK were releasing two limited edition Snickers bars, I thought I’d take the opportunity to do a Snickers Week. So every day this week, I’l review a Snickers product, starting today with the classic Snickers bar, and taking in a couple of rarer, foreign Snickers along the way. But as mentioned, today we start with the ordinary and most common regular Snickers.
