Well, it sure feels like I haven’t written a review for a while. Oh right yeah, that’s because I haven’t! It has been nearly a whole month which is frankly disgraceful. And what a crazy month it has been- famous people dying, terrorism on U.S soil and…urgh…JLS splitting up? I’ve probably missed a whole load of other stuff too- I’ve been revising really quite intensely for my university final exams which are very soon. Hence the lack of reviews recently. In fact I wasn’t planning on writing any during my exam period, but this review is essentially a form of procrastination! So what am I reviewing exactly? Well it’s Ritter Sport’s Yogurt bar of course.

It has finally happened. Frey sent me a ridiculously generous box of their products to review in the summer of last year, and I’ve racked up about 15 reviews since that package arrived from Switzerland. I thought it would be never-ending, and that every time I reached down into the box it would be like Mary Poppins’ handbag and another bar would appear. But alas not- today’s milk and Hazelnuts review is the last. Which, given how impressive most of their chocolate has been, is bad news. Sad face.
I haven’t eaten a Ritter Sport bar for absolutely yonks. They just don’t really seem to be available that much in the UK that I can see- I’ve only reviewed two on here before and I found them both in a train station of all places. Then Chris, the friendly owner of a website called Monster Sweets, got in touch and offered me the chance to sample a collection of their imported Ritter Sport range. It goes without saying that I jumped at the opportunity, and this is the first review of a few that I’l be doing. The Ritter Sport Caramel Nuts.
I kept seeing the Whatchamacallit so thought it was time to review it. Is the name great or is it unbelievably stupid? Well I’m still not entirely sure! It’s quite true that people do frequently use ‘whatchamacallit’ as a noun. And Hershey’s decision to bring out a follow up bar (which has now gone to Chocolate Heaven with the other deceased bars like the Fuse and Champagne Crunchie) called the Thingamajig was equally clever/horrific. You can’t deny it’s catchy though. Because even when you forget the Whatchamacallit bar, you end up using the bar’s name trying to remember the bar’s name. It’s brilliant- like a beer called beer or a cheese called cheese…you just can’t forget it.
I haven’t reviewed a Reese’s product for a while so thought it was about time I did. I like the Reese’s brand- it is quite far removed from what we have available in the UK which gives it a little bit of a novelty value. How is it different to our chocolate? Well, obviously all of the peanut butter for a start. Whereas we English are occasionally thrown a limited edition bar with a bit of P.B, Americans get an entire brand dedicated to the stuff. This makes me envious.
I like reviewing rarer chocolate. It feels a bit more special to eat- and today’s review DEFINITELY counts as rare. Cadbury’s P.S bar comes all the way from sunny South Africa, adding another exotic country to the places I’ve reviewed products from before. What is it? Well before I ate it, I couldn’t have told you! I didn’t even know it existed until I was given it as a gift.
I’ve done plenty of reviews of new companies recently on here, including my first forays into reviewing crisps, but today it’s back to a tried and trusted company of mine- Frey. The Swiss chocolate makers have churned out a succession of great bars of chocolate, some of which I’ve rated incredibly highly. This is my penultimate review of the chocolates they sent me last year, and it’s from their Chocobloc range- the Chocobloc Air.
