Golden Wonder HP Sauce and Heinz Ketchup Crisps

001I’ve been sat on these for a while. Not literally. But I was sent them by a PR team but have been more than a bit snowed under (once again, figuratively speaking) with university deadlines. However I’ve finally got round to eating them, which is good news because Golden Wonders’ limited edition HP sauce crisps, and their Heinz Tomato Ketchup option both ‘float my boat’ in theory. I laaaaav condiments in general, and aside from my beloved Henderson’s Relish, these two varieties come a close second as personal favourites.

Mars Caramel

015For the third consecutive review, I’ve really messed up the timing with the Mars Caramel. This limited edition bar came out a long time ago (last summer I think) and I actually bought it a long time ago too. But it has taken me about 7 or 8 months to sit down and eat it, which I suppose says it all for how excited I am about the product concept!

Mars’ Snickers More Caramel

017I massively slagged off the Snickers More Nuts on Tuesday because I thought that the newly released limited edition bar from Mars UK demonstrated a real lack of originality and innovation. Well this is the other product from that same limited edition range, and I’m sincerely hoping it isn’t anywhere near as lame! Day 4 of Snickers Week sees a review of the Snickers More Caramel bar.

Mars’ Snickers More Nuts

014Day two of Snickers Week brings us a super duper, highly thoughtful and borderline revolutionary new Snickers bar from Mars UK. Ok, I might have gone a little over the top. Or a LOT over the top. Because the Snickers More Nuts is a regular Snickers bar…with a few more nuts. Awe-inspiringly original stuff from Mars’ product development department, but something I was interested in trying none the less as a limited edition product.

Nestle Yorkie Honeycomb

012The Yorkie brand will surely go down as the most sexist in chocolate history. The slogan “not for girls” remains a complete mystery to me in a business sense too. You see, companies want to try and sell their products to as many people as they possibly can. Makes sense right? Well Nestle were obviously thinking outside of the box, and decided that the Yorkie brand was a great idea… when to me, immediately pissing off 50% of your potential custom seems at best strange and at worst seriously idiotic. Maybe they’ve realised this… because this limited edition Yorkie Honeycomb I bought didn’t have the famous Yorkie slogan on it anywhere.

Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice Kisses

I’ve said on here before how much I love getting free stuff to try. In fact I think everybody loves a good freebie! The old saying goes ‘money won is a lot sweeter than money earned’ and I guess that is pretty much the case here…except it’s a slightly less dignified and refined sounding ‘free sweets are a lot sweeter than sweets bought’. (Not literally sweeter you’ll understand!) Well, after that little ramble, I’l get onto the review. You’ll have read how many of my reviews have been on foreign import products from Cybercandy. Well, after spending about half of my life’s savings in their Covent Garden store up until now, they (kindly, and out of the blue) have rewarded my loyalty and sent me something to sample. Horray!

Montezuma’s Eton Mess:

The end of the Olympics has meant a bit of a hole has formed in my day to day life. Instead of being able to watch women boxing at 1PM in the afternoon or the Saudi Arabian archery team as soon as I got up… I’ve found only Cash in the Attic and Doctors on TV during the day. This made me sad- very sad indeed. So I went to a shop and bought a British themed product to try and get myself back in the spirit of the Olympics even though they’re over. Kind of like a heroin addict taking methadone- it obviously isn’t going to do the job, but it might make reality a little less brutal!
